Principal
Mrs. Sims’ connection to Hamshire-Fannett ISD began long before she stepped into leadership. In 2006, she arrived on campus as a student teacher while completing her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology through Lamar University. From that first experience, she knew Hamshire-Fannett was where she wanted to build her career and her life.
After gaining experience at Anahuac, Little Cypress-Mauriceville, and St. Catherine Catholic School, Sims joined Hamshire-Fannett ISD in 2014 as a middle school teacher, teaching English Language Arts before transitioning to Hamshire-Fannett High School in 2016.
Throughout her career, Sims has taught Physical Education, Teen Leadership, Debate, World History, and Athletics while coaching volleyball, basketball, track, soccer, and softball. She served as Head Softball Coach of the Lady Horns from 2017 through 2025, where her focus extended beyond competition to developing confident, resilient young women who believed in themselves and their potential.
Her professional growth within the district reflects both ambition and dedication. Sims earned her Master of Education in Administration with a focus on Principalship from Lamar University in 2023 and has since served as Assistant Principal at Hamshire-Fannett High School. Her experiences as a teacher, coach, Female Coordinator, and assistant principal have provided a well-rounded understanding of what students and staff need to thrive.
Sims leads with the belief that effective leadership is built on visibility, communication, consistency, and meaningful relationships with students, staff, families, and the broader community. She is committed to being present, accessible, and responsive while maintaining a positive and supportive campus culture.
Hamshire-Fannett is more than her professional home, it is her family’s home. Both of her daughters proudly graduated from Hamshire-Fannett High School as members of the Classes of 2021 and 2025, further strengthening her investment in the Longhorn community.
“I am honored and excited to lead Hamshire-Fannett High School on its continued path of excellence, with a strong focus on student success, campus safety, collaboration among teachers and staff, transparency, and active engagement with the community and stakeholders,” Sims said. “I am looking forward to building on the school’s accomplishments while working together to create opportunities for all students to thrive."
Robert Reid

Mr. Reid brings 36 years of experience in education and a lifelong commitment to serving students, families, and communities across Southeast Texas. A native of Port Arthur, he began his educational career in 1989 as a classroom teacher in Port Arthur ISD and has since built an extensive background in educational leadership.
Since entering school administration in 2004, Mr. Reid has served in numerous leadership roles, including Assistant Principal and Principal. His experience spans elementary and secondary education and includes service in Catholic schools, charter schools, and traditional public school districts. This diverse professional background has provided him with a broad perspective on student success, school improvement, and organizational leadership.
In addition to his work as an educator and administrator, Mr. Reid served on the Port Arthur ISD Board of Trustees from 2013 to 2021, demonstrating his dedication to public education and community service.
Mr. Reid earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwest Texas State University and a Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University. He is also a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur.
A longtime Southeast Texas resident, Mr. Reid and his wife, Mary Ann, have four children, Chelsea, Kyle (daughter-in-law Taylor), Reece, and Jessica, and are proud grandparents to their grandson, James.
Throughout his career, Mr. Reid has remained focused on supporting students, developing educators, and building strong school communities. As he joins the Hamshire-Fannett ISD family, he looks forward to continuing that mission and contributing to the success of Hamshire-Fannett High School.
Charles Colvin

With 27 years of experience in education and a longstanding commitment to serving students, families, and communities throughout Southeast Texas, Colvin brings a wealth of leadership experience and educational expertise to his new role.
A native of Lumberton, Colvin began his educational career in 1989 as the Gymnastics Program Director and Coach for Beaumont ISD. During his tenure, he served on several committees dedicated to school improvement, including Relay Graduate, Safe and Civil Schools, and Campus Educational Improvement initiatives. He also attended Rice University's Executive Education Academy through the Jones Graduate School of Business, further strengthening his foundation in educational leadership.
Since entering school administration in 2013, Colvin has served in numerous leadership roles, including Curriculum Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Associate Principal, and Principal. His experience spans both elementary and secondary education and includes service in social work-related positions. This diverse professional background has provided him with a broad perspective on student achievement, school improvement, and organizational leadership.
Colvin earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Lamar University and holds lifetime Texas Teaching Certifications in both disciplines. He later earned a Master of Education in Administration and completed his Superintendent Certification through Lamar University. He is also a proud graduate of Lumberton High School.
Throughout his career, Colvin has remained focused on building meaningful relationships that support students, develop educators, and strengthen school communities. His collaborative approach and dedication to educational excellence have made a positive impact on the campuses and districts he has served.
A longtime Southeast Texas resident, Colvin and his wife, Keia, enjoy traveling on their motorcycles. They are proud Godparents to a niece and share their home with four dogs, Takoda, Star, Blondie, and Tootsie.
